We have decided to retract the paper titled “A New Concept in Antidiabetic Therapeutics: A Concerted Removal of Labile Iron and Intracellular Deposition of Zinc” (Diabetes Metab J 2024;48(1):59-71) by Vinokur V, Berenshtein E, Chevion M, Chevion D. It has come to our attention that the first author submitted the copyright transfer agreement form for this paper without obtaining consent from the co-authors, which is a breach of the Diabetes Metabolism Journal’s copyright policy.
According to the journal’s instructions to authors, Section 3. EDITORIAL POLICY 3.1. Copyright requires every author to sign the authorship responsibility and copyright transfer agreement form, confirming their compliance with the authorship criteria.
After a thorough discussion by the Diabetes Metabolism Journal Ethics Committee, it has been unanimously agreed to retract the paper.
